Search and Sort
Create your own tag taxonomy by using MediaSilo's tag manager. Tags let you quickly locate content by metadata customized for your subjects and projects. Rapidly sort content in any workspace by tag and see your content sorted, immediately. The metadata stays with the file so you can build multiple projects quickly by identifying and using the assets you want, when you want them.
Publish to Apple TV
There's nothing like watching clips on a big screen. Create channels and manage video content for viewing on set-top boxes like Apple TV. RSS lineups are instantly availability on Apple TV. Use it for dailies, casting, conferences, review sessions or just watch your stuff at home. It's as simple as using iTunes.
Automatic Email Notifications
MediaSilo's notification system lets you and others know when files have completed uploading, new annotations or comments have been added, or when new workspaces have become available. Custom brand email notifications with your own logo and style. Send them out immediately or stagger notifications for high-volume users. Notifications include direct links to the assets and show a thumbnail for easy identification.
Flexible User Management
MediaSilo's user management is comprehensive and lets you create users with different roles and privileges that you define. Choose Project Managers, Contributors, Clients, etc. and control which assets and features they have access to. Get unlimited user accounts so each user has their own username and password. You never have to delete an account to make room for new users.
Activity Tracking
Track who's doing what with a simple admin widget to stay up on your project's progress. It works on Mac and PC. See who's logged on, uploaded assets, made annotations or requested approval. The activity monitor sees all.
Custom Branding

Server-Side Encoding
Upload just about any video file and MediaSilo will optimize it for web delivery. No more calls from clients who can't view Windows Media or QuickTime files. MediaSilo keeps your source file but creates a web-optimized proxy for streaming over the web. Supported file types include QuickTime, Windows Media, FLV, MPEG, MP4, AVI, and DV.
Human-Powered Transcripts
Need transcripts? MediaSilo's human-powered transcription service makes requesting transcripts as easy as drag-and-drop. Pick the files for transcribing, enter instructions (e.g. speaker names) and pick a turnaround time (24 or 72 hours). At $1.50 a minute and $3.00 per clip, MediaSilo provides a turn-key solution for transcribing video clips. Transcripts are attached to clips and immediately searchable, making it easy to find via search.
Review and Approval
MediaSilo keeps everyone on the same page (or clip) with an easy-to-use, effective collaboration toolset. Leave feedback directly on the timeline. Each contributor has a unique marker meaning you can easily filter user comments. Build a string for input from multiple stakeholders, then request and receive approval. Rate clips for casting or review. Export your comments or ratings for archive or hard copy.
Online Channels + Analytics
Manage playlists and embed video channels online. MediaSilo makes playlist creation easy by creating standards-based playlists that work with all popular open source video players.
